U.S. STOCKS: Dow ended off by about 49 points while the Nasdaq ended with gains of almost the same amount, about 45 points. Blue chip winners today included ATT, upgraded by MSDW, up $2 1/2 at $22 1/2, Microsoft, up about $2 3/4 at $51 7/8 and Pfizer, up $1 1/16 at $43. Winners on the Nasdaq included Global Crossing, Ebay, Dell, Cisco, Sun Microsystems and Amgen. S&P 500 ended up a modest 5 points.
